Write about something you need to let go of—you know what it is. Don’t worry about whether you’ll be able to let go. If you feel ready to let go, you can set ‘letting go’ as your intention for this week’s practice. If you don’t feel ready, ‘understanding’ is your intention, and you’ll see what comes from that.
Questions to explore
Why has it been hard to let go?
How have I been holding on to this thing? Where does holding on show up in my life?
What does it feel like to hold this tightly?
What does holding on do for me? What is it trying to do for me?
Which parts of me are holding on and which parts want to let go?
What will it feel like to let go?
What will be possible if I do?
No time suggestion this week, but I do suggest one writing session for the exercise. Breaking up answering the questions into multiple sessions might stifle your insights. You might copy them out into your journal and respond there, where hand-writing will help you slow down and find the answers.
