You step into a room full of everyone you’ve ever known. Who are you looking for first?
Writing a response to this prompt, you can include or not include any number of things: What the room looks like and how to find it, where you were on the other side of the door, if it’s a door. Who you see first and how people have organized themselves in the room. Who you ignore or wave to on your way to this person, who you ask for help if anyone, whether speaking is part of the room. Why you’re looking for this person, how long it’s been since you’ve seen them, where they are now in your life or what happened that they no longer are, what you say first if you say anything, if you can, if it matters, what you talk about or where you take them, or if you introduce them to anyone else in the room, or leave together, if they can leave, how that leaving looks, and what it means, and where you are arriving.
